After dropping a couple of teaser 12"s, Kindred Spirits now deliver the full "Deep Disco And Boogie Vol.1" compilation containing eight full lenght rare boogie-disco / jazz-funk winners! The UK-based dealer and collector Zaf Chowdry aka Pussclod (??!), selected some of his finest and most in-demand jams for this double pack. The compilation opens with the sought after extended mix of a KILLER and ultra-rare disco track by China Burton, which has possibly one of the most heaviest break-downs around. Chemistry's 'Closer' is a production by Dr. Otto Gomes, known for his recent reissue on PPU records. It is originally featured as a B-side on a hard to find 12" on Masterpiece records. GC Cameron's 'Live For Love' is a beautiful mid-tempo boogie ballad formerly released as a B-side on the Flamingo Records 7". Cash 'Hot Thang' closes the first half of the compilation as a proper boogie-funk slammer. Master Force's 'Don't Fight The Feeling' is known as the first release on Rain Forest records, ran and produced by Greg Henderson; a solid disco stomper and still a heavily sought after tune. Rick Womack's 'I Need You' reworks the original by Sylvester and is labeled as one of the top gospel-disco tunes around. Jazz pianist Ojeda Penn created an early 80s boogie funk album called 'Happiness', the track 'Brotherson' is the highlight of that album. The final track on the list is TC James Orchestra And The Fist-O-Funk Orchestra's 'Bumpsie's Whipping Cream', a funky disco track filled with guitar riffs and percussion breaks.
