Electric Minds present the first taster of their Arthur Russell cover versions project. The legendary singer-songwriter / producer's tracks have been divvied-up between some of today's best producers for some tasteful 2009 tributes. Faze Action take on "In The Light Of A Miracle", with a version that features new vocals by Yam Who? and Mary Moore. They give the track a driving house sound complete with big piano lines - it's all very 1991! Pocketknife bring us their rub on "Get Around To It" - again in a house style - with very Russellesque vocals from Joe Warricker. Mark E is on hand to rework Pocketknife's cover version, serving up more 4/4s, and much more upbeat than his usual fare. Last but not least we have a quirky indie Afro-funk version of "Arm Around You" by My Tiger My Timing which is mixed by Andy Spence from New Young Pony Club. Four covers and not a dud in sight.
