Trickski have been putting out top quality leftfield club music for the past five years on labels such as Sonar Kollektiv, Compost and more recently Stiloove4music. Their remix skills have shaped up the likes of Kiloo and Phonique and Chopstick and Johnjohn and now it's time for their debut here on Delusions Of Grandeur. "The Warm Up" is true Trickski style; back to the raw, slow, deep and loaded with an intense atmosphere which guarantees this cut will stay long in the minds of those who hear it. The arrangement builds using layers of fizzing synths while the pitched-down, drugged-up vocal makes the call to the dancefloor. Up next we have "Sunbeams In The Sky", another slo-mo jam with an expertly stripped-back understated feel leaving loads of space for the pulsing chords and delightfully naive vocal hook. Finally it’s the man known as CB Funk (half of Artwo Mwambe and the incredible Brontosaurus label) getting busy on "The Warm Up", keeping the beats slow but shuffling up the groove a bit and introducing deep pads and skipping synth lines. No vocal on this version either, just eight minutes of abstract, electronic funk to get lost in. Help!
