A starkly beautiful third solo album from Everything But The Girl’s Tracey Thorn. "Love And Its Opposite" is produced by Ewan Pearson fresh from his success with Delphic. Fret not though, as you'll be pleased to hear that Our Tracey has taken leave of the dancefloor and (thankfully) left the Autotuning that littered "Out Of The Woods" at home, heading back to what she does best - beautifully crafted songs of an acoustic guitar-pop nature. And while the lyrical themes may be a humdrum - from commitment issues ("Long White Dress") to marital breakdown (the head-of-the-nail-hitting "Oh! the Divorces" - it's not just my friends who are all splitting up then!) - surely this is what Thorn has always been about; not some great epic sweep on the meaning of life, but adding an insight into the minutiae of day to day life. Includes a desolate duet with Jens Lekman, covering Lee Hazlewood's "Come On Home To Me".
