ABOUT THIS ITEM
In 2004, Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" might have been the single of the year, but "The Rat", the single from this album came a very close second. And the rest of the album doesn't disappoint either. A huge shimmering guitar sound, and superb vocals that sway between resigned and frustated - on the verge of exploding but always controlled. There are traces of The Velvet Underground, maybe Jeff Buckley, and a whole lot more. But The Walkmen take these familiar influences and push them into a whole new direction. Add to this a brooding energy through-out and a heavy dose of NY cool, and you have one awesome album. Don't miss it!
