ABOUT THIS ITEM
The third album from Lou Reed and associates was their first without viola / bass playing founder member John Cale. Recruiting Doug Yule, the band adopted a stripped down and mellow approach that perfectly complemented the numerous ballads such as "Candy Says", "Pale Blue Eyes" and the hymnal "Jesus". Where previous albums influenced the next three decades of avant rock'n'roll and white noise, this one anticipated the slow-core movement and the likes of The Cowboy Junkies, Galaxie 500, Yo La Tengo and hundreds more.
