Untracked Recordings are back with another essential release, this time from the Vice-hyped (don't let that put you off!) The Off-Key Hat (previously of Dissident Records). The A-side's "A Night At The Off Key Hat (Dub)" is 2am electrodisco-meets tech-house of the highest order; a wonderfully druggy vocal arrangement leads to one of the biggest vocal hooks of the last few years. The flipside serves up something totally different and equally ace - if not better - than side A. "Super Sound Single", a sublime piece of Balearic electro-pop / disco-not-disco featuring the talents of OKH mainstay Cassie O. This is just so lovely, and reminiscent of quirky post-punk pop sounds from 1979 / 1980. And if that isn't good enough, Ashley Beedle weighs in with his 'Robots Have Soul' edit, for the more instrumentally inclined DJ. Essential!
