ABOUT THIS ITEM

Formed in the late 1960s Tangerine Dream were amongst the founding fathers of the Kraut-rock subculture. Dominated by synthesiser and Mellotron, with spacy flute and stereophonic noodlings they were pioneers of this new sound. "Alpha Centauri" is amongst the best of their early recordings with Froese and Franke and the more experimentally minded Conrad Schnitzler (later of Cluster) bouncing ides off each other and recording an album of daring and ground breaking originality. Now reissued with the A-side of their very first single "Ultima Thule Part One".
