ABOUT THIS ITEM
Tally Ho! is the covers side project of Rose Melberg and Larissa Loyva, this is their first release, featuring the traditional folk of I Never Will Marry, made famous by the Carter Family, the showbiz standard Nature Boy, and a version of the Pretenders' Kid, all heartbreakingly beautiful two part harmonies, and stripped down instrumentation. a must for fans of First Aid Kit and the Softies. Larissa Loyva is a canadian indie singer and instrumentalist, recording as part of Mint Records' P:ano and the Choir Practice, as well as her solo project Kelarissa. She has also sung with Rose Melberg on her last two eurpoean tours. Rose Melberg grew up in Sacramento, but her musical career was honed in the burgeoning indie pop/punk scene of Olympia, Washington. It all began, as the say, in 1992 with Tiger Trap, a seminal velvet pop-punk group that burned too fast and disbanded after just two tours. Rose then formed The Softies with Jen Sbragia. Two guitars with two angelic voices, a handful of singles on K and Slumberland Records and three full length albums were recorded from 1994-2001. She has since made three outstanding solo records, the latest "Homemade Ship" was released in the UK by www.wiaiwya.com, and returned to her punk pop roots with Brave Irene.
