School Of Language is David Brewis, formerly one third of the excellent Field Music. This is the first taster of his solo outing, under the name School Of Language. You'll be glad to hear that his new sound doesn't stray too far from that of Field Music. Melodic guitars and vocal melodies intertwine over a taught drum rhythm and a pulsing back beat created from Brewis' a-e-i-o-u vocal loop. This is great, inventive pop, and like his Field Music it gets better and better with repeated listens.
