ABOUT THIS ITEM

Fascinating Rhythms follow up the success of last years debut release, Jonny Miller's remix of Radiohead's "Reckoner", with another hotly anticipated slab of Balearicness.

Sam Sallon is a hugely talented singer songwriter, who's acoustic-led folk-pop brings to mind legendary UK artists such as Nick Drake & John Martyn, as well as more contemporary artists such as Devendra Banhart, Iron & Wine, Vetiver, etc. Two of the UKs finest producers have taken Sam's beautiful, delicate original song and taken it into new territory. Leo Elstob aka Leo Zero needs no introduction. His remixes include last years epic reworkings of Jack Penate and Florence & The Machine, and more recently he's worked his magic on Paul Weller and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Here he transforms Sam's acoustic original into a chugging, footstomping, sing-a-long Balearic end-of-night-anthem. Think The Beatles "Baby You're A Rich Man" meets The Aliens "Robot Man", with a subtle hint of (and don't let this put you off) "Wonderwall"! I've played this at parties all over the world in the last year and the reaction has been phenomenal.

Begin is the new recording alias of Back 2 Basics and Bugged Out! resident, Chemical Brothers tour DJ, apprentice fishmonger, and officially funniest man in Europe without his own stand-up DVD to sell, James Holroyd. James' Begin project has just released his long overdue debut 12", the sublime "Optical Holiday" EP on his own label. Here he applies that subtle, euphoric Balearic Begin sound to the mix, which is destined to be the soundtrack to all your sunsets this summer. This is sure to be one of the records of the year, so get it on your 'to buy' list now.
