Closer is the new EP from Rimar Villasenor, a 24 year-old Brooklyn-based producer and songwriter who came to the attention of many last year with the rather sublime EP ‘Higher Ground’ – an album that showcased RIMAR’s talents to mould 70’s funk with the smoothness of modern R&B via J Dilla inspired beat-making.

Closer continues where he left things on Higher Ground, the bass is heavy and beats are dense as this seven song album fluctuates between club anthems and a more introspective and thoughtful output… regardless of which direction he chooses the slickness of it all remains.
