All I Ever Wanted EP

ABOUT THIS ITEM

Untracked Recordings had a killer year in 2009, and if this release is any indication, things are only going to get better for the vinyl-only label in 2010. Untracked 12" number eleven is the incredible new "All I Ever Wanted" EP from Red Rack’em. The title track is straight-up beatdown, with lush synth chords, Theo Parrish-esque stabs and rumbling sub bass underpinning a low-slung heavyweight rhythm. One for the true underground connoisseurs. The track, however, that’s had everyone freaking out is "In Love Again", which opens side two. Deep warm pads, an emotive, soulful vocal sample and beautiful Detroit strings bring this straight to the heart of the matter. An absolute beauty. The EP closes with another beatdown number, "Beginning End", which is all about the groove - one for the red-lit basement warm-up slot. Serious support from Gilles Peterson, and endless inquiries as to its release date has ensured this record won’t be around for long.
