ABOUT THIS ITEM
"Trickle Down" is the second 12" taken from the new album by Processory (Jori Hulkkonen & Jerry Valuri), "Change Is Gradual". Hercules & Love Affair kicking things off, remixing "Trickle Down" into a feel-good, mid-tempo electronic house cut full of tasty piano licks, catchy bassline and throbbing acid lines. With a wonderful, sparse breakdown and meticulous attention to instrumentation and layers the track is a sure-fire winner in the club and bound to get them whooping away with delight, just check that incessant 303 nagging at the end! "Human, Unfortunately" gets an extra tweak by Hulkkonen himself next, hitting overdrive on the arpeggio button and adding swirling layers of synthetic bliss and gated 80s drum machines. Rocking the boogie and Italo influences but in a completely novel way. On the flip "Nightfall" is a lo-fi electronic ballad inspired by the Pet Shop Boys and New Order while "Trickle Down" rides a dark, electro influence with 4-bit drums and detuned synthesizers. Finally "Farewell, Welfare" gets a remix by Siyoung who thickens things up with huge pads, droning bass and a nagging, fluctuated synth which flutters around the mix. When the vocal drops we're treated to a warm, enveloping future-ballad / late night club track with UKF-template drums set against a dreamy backdrop of flute, strings and delicately sequenced keys. Perfect in every manner, and with so much emotion at its core, beautiful.
