ABOUT THIS ITEM

Talk 'bout Pop music. Pop & Eye return, and on great form as well. Overdubbed overtures from all four corners of the dance music world with recognition value, virtue and elegance: space R&B, Atlantis disco, Carribean new wave, minimal boogie and a declaration of love.

"Being Boing" will suit the slo-mo and boogie heads all at the same time - Balearic tropical-disco at 110bpm with a slow build, super-squelchy bass and deep warmth... OMG! It's the Pet Shop Boys "Being Boring" totally reworked and reborn! "Blow Me Down" sounds like it has Sade DNA in there somewhere, allied to a sublime bass-bubbling disco-house groove. Wicked stuff. "Give Me A Fight" goes deep and low-slung with George Benson's "Give Me The Night", adding keyboard line overdubs and all sorts. Which leaves "Spinach Life" to tease us with that intro bit of the Crusaders "Street Life" (you know; before the horns swell and the song kicks in), which is looped into a fairly upbeat house cut here.
