ABOUT THIS ITEM
The continued rise of the Future Classic label keeps on going with this new release from LA production duo Poolside and their tune “Do You Believe?". Since Future Classic turned in the direction of disco-house and Balearic-pop inspired sounds it's been no looking back, and Poolside come up with a belter here, complete with an eye (and ear) catching set of remixes. Reminiscent of the classic west coast soft-pop / yacht-rock dance music of the late 70s / early 80s (Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates etc), "Do You Believe" features big piano keys, dreamy vocals, a light drizzling of 303 acid served at 105bpm over a percussive summer disco groove. An Electric Elephant anthem in the making I reckon! James Curd drops the first remix, upping the pace for a disco-acid-house groover. Coming in at a different angle, Jacques Renault hooks up with Tiffany Roth from Midnight Magic, who adds new vocals over a piano-disco version with hints of Arthur Russell. Lastly Cosmic Kids keep to the original script, going for some slo-mo vibes and dreaminess. There’s buzz on this tune! It was debuted by Aeroplane in their January 2011 mix for BBC Radio 1 and amassed over 10,000 YouTube plays for the video clip in just a week!
