Parallel Dance Ensemble are disco-not-disco duo New Zealand MC Coco Solid and Bobbi Soxx, aka Danish producer Robin Hannibal from Owusu & Hannibal, Quadron and Boom Clap Bachelors. Together, PDE's tongue in cheek joints have all the hallmarks of an early 80s party and beam you back to the glorious days of disco rap complete with a Salt-N-Pepa hi top fade haircut, Reebock Pumps and tons of Hubba Bubba in your mouth. You could sum up PDE's music as electronic disco-not-disco or think of Tom Tom Club and Grace Jones having a block party with MIA and New Young Pony Club.

After their well-received 12" release in 2009 on Yam Who's ISM label (which got much love from James Murphy, Maurice Fulton, Horse Meat Disco to Danny Wang and Metro Area ) the duo now follows up with the steamy and synthed out "Possessions And Obsessions" mini album on Permanent Vacation. The LP consists of five killer cuts that combine cute raps (anyone who rhymes 'see what you're handling' and 'playing on your mandolin' has got sassiness running through them like Blackpool rock) and disco-not-disco grooves.
