Right now Oliver $ is one of the most exciting DJs / Producers coming out of Berlin. His unique take on house has gained mass support and regular play from the likes of Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Claude VonStroke and President Obama. His distinctive logo has also found its way onto the ankles of impressionable young Americans, (evidenced by the recent Made to Play Scion A/V Tour), eager to show their devotion to the prolific young ginger. Having recently proven his ability to produce a tough main room banger with his latest remix of Riva Starr's "Dance Me", the "ihope" EP twists things off-piste again and takes us on a distinctly educational safari to the 1920s and beyond. The stripped down vintage Chicago beat that kicks off A-side "iHope" sets the scene, while B-side “Ginger Ale” is like an audio equivalent of a Back To The Future movie escorting us into a forgotten world of swing, jazz, smoky bars and happy, dancing people.
