ABOUT THIS ITEM
After an incredibly busy 2011, which saw Novella release their first single on Dirty Bingo Records, tour extensively and be part of a split record on Marshall Teller, 2012 looks set to follow suit. Described by NME as ‘London’s most ubiquitous band’ they will be continuing their reign over the live scene, touring with Veronica Falls throughout March- and with a growing list of festivals to look forward to in the summer.
Having been busy in the studio with Rory Attwell throughout January, Novella now release their first EP, on Italian Beach Babes. The EP demonstrates what they’re best at - it is a fusion of psychedelic stylings and ‘ferocious riffage’- as described by FACT magazine, that draws from a long lineage of often overlooked alternative indie rock. With influences spanning the classic 4AD sound to Flying Nun to Brian Jonestown Massacres ‘Methodrone’ album, Novella look set to make quite the impression, with a sound untouched on by anyone else.
