Following on from last year's early singles compendium, "Weirdo Rippers", "Nouns" is an amazing distortion of sound, made all the more incredible when you realise that this symphony of noise is made by a two piece. All the best influences can be heard - pre-"Goo" period Sonic Youth, the aggression of Fugazi, Minor Threat and Black Flag, and the swaying sonic know how of My Bloody Valentine. Dean and Randy use samplers alongside their main instruments, expertly weaving their way through experimental passages to full on sonic headlocks as found on the singles "Eraser" and "Teen Creeps", to create an album of depth as well as unadulterated excitement. As Dean so wonderfully sums up, 'bands should be fun and exciting and they should push all the buttons at the same time. They should make you feel like you are going to explode and make you utterly confused and inspired at the same time.'
