Back for more action, Brooklyn duo Native underground drop the first Under The Shade release of 2012. "Close" is a nicely driving house cut with a mechanoid bassline stutter and arpeggiated synth spirals which unfold into a rather tasty song with a full vocals (filtered way back in the mix). On the remix tip Alphabet City come with a retro-tinted piano house version that's all snapping 808 percussion and squelchy bass. Ben Pearce goes deeper, darker and lets the acid bassline lead the way. Lastly the production half of Native Underground, Son of Sound, serves up a warm, dreamy house refix.
