With releases already for Electric Minds, Is It Balearic? and Bearfunk, and one on the way for Leng, Italian duo Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano, aka Mushrooms Project have also found time to come up with a couple of cosmic / Italo disco winners for the prolific Under The Shade imprint. Their "Tropikal Mushrooms" rides a midtempo electrodisco groove with a nice arpeggiated bassline and plenty of Idjuts style dubwise desk action. Phoreskipumps it up in the remix for more of a cosmic disco-rock variant. "From Tropik To Space" is equally trippy, with a lose percussive feel, tropical touches and squelchy 303s. For his remix Mark E goes deep with a driving house interpretation reminiscent of Jaydee "Plastic Dreams" (the organ sound is similar anyway...).
