ABOUT THIS ITEM

After a few years singing in 'shouty punk bands around Manchester', Liam went solo in 2003 at the ripe old age of 20. Shouty punk's loss is charming, eccentric, acoustic pop's gain as the man who has also been described by Guy Garvey as 'the UK's answer to Bright Eyes' started to write prolifically over the following two years. Building a devoted fanbase in Manchester and wowing crowds nationwide supporting fellow troubadour Stephen Fretwell, Liam has also shared a stage with Nine Black Alps, Willy Mason, Badly Drawn Boy and Kinks legend Ray Davies. Liam with his band The Slowdown Family have spent the last few months in the studio with Coldplay producer Danton Supple to record their debut album, and it instantly propels him into the sphere of his aforementioned peers. All the songs are mini-singalongs, really catchy and played with exhuberance, but it's his Mancunian diction and powerful words that'll bowl you over. Somewhere between I Am Kloot and Badly Drawn Boy, there's a new bard demanding your attention!
