With beats programmed by Req and production held down like unwanted puppies in the local river coming courtesy of Ross Orton (the man responsible for MIA's hit single, "Galang"), "Eddy Fresh" is another killer from "Romance Ain't Dead", the Kid's new LP. The neck-snapping funk-rock hip hop slammer with a fresh south Yorkshire flow, is then transformed by fellow citizens of God's own county, Gescom. The Autechre alias duo add an electronic edge to the track, but less than you might expect - it's more electro-hop than electronica.
