Justin Berkovi delivers two heads down mid-tempo techno tracks for his Art debut. "Drive" delivers its power via dark modulating synth stabs with a thunderous low end and layered kick drum. Aptly titled, the track is propelled forward with some serious energy and has that trademark Art production aesthetic written all over it - glistening, crisp and futuristic. A deep breakdown ensures this'll get late nightclub play. "When I Throw Down" also proceeds with dark undertones, a menacing vocal sample and some deeply submerged pad stabs providing the flesh of this particular beast. The arrangement subtly bobs and weaves through a number of phrases but it’s all pretty heads down and constant with clever use of the vocal sample providing the occasional refrain. More top drawer firepower from the Art label - essential for late night techno DJs out in the field and still, I am happy to stay, keeping the price tag reassuringly low!
