First release from a new series of records by Joy Orbison and Boddika. You know when you go into Greg's to get a pasty and they've literally just pulled out a whole load of your favourite flavours onto the pie racks. Well imagine the sonic comparison of freshness. Pioneering a totally new sound these two cats make inventing genres easy. Let’s give this one a go - ket-step, nu-minimal, train-wreck house... anyway, as you'd expect from two of the most contextual producers around, these two joints are totally future proof. "Froth" has a ketamine-induced rattle and some long delayed vocal elements cascading through the mix. Totally druggy and glowing with plasma radiance, the track unfolds slowly through its long course, melting cerebrums and electrifying torsos on its path. On the flip, "Mercy" has a similarly alien sound palette, with some dark growling pads accompanying the off-beat k-wiggle fast epitomizing this new sound. Dripping with caustic acid and with a menacing tension, the track will tear apart pitch black night clubs in the later hours of the session. Most highly recommended.
