ABOUT THIS ITEM

The price of these Stilove4music black labels may make you recoil at first, but I know you'll always be back to buy because the peeps label boss Jerome Derradji gets in to do the re-edits really know their stuff, and always come up with something a bit different. For Stilove4music 24 the boss hooks up with Rahaan for another essential double header of disco and house. "The Way It Goes" has that Hamilton Bohannon disco-funk vibe to it (the female vocal is especially reminiscent of his stuff), but with added acid keyboard lines. Next is "Energize Me", a speed-fuelled motorik EBM track complete with drilling sounds. Very proto-techno. Flip is up for "Give It Up", a big female disco track with plenty of boogie-funk going on - a definite dancefloor filler. This is an edit of Risse's 1982 killer "Give It Up, Shake It Down". With the original only on 7" (this edit extends the track to 12" length), and those original sevens selling for around the £50 mark on Discogs, this 12" doesn't look so expensive after all!
