ABOUT THIS ITEM
Faces Records & Les Disques Superfriends together with Moula Moula Publishing bring us the debut outing in their new "Selected Sound Remixes" series, which gives new producers the chance to get their mitts on old library productions. Franky Hutchinson & Pablo Valentino dug deep into a particular era of the famous German sound library catalogue, which primarily dealt with the early 80s cosmic and electro sound. They dug up some amazing stuff by the likes of Klaus Weiss and Roland Kovac, the originals of which were then passed on some of the best producers around for the rework treatment.
For the first part we have two excellent extended boogie / disco remixes of jazz drummer Klaus Weiss from James Pants (Stones Throw) and Tom Noble (Lotus Land, Superior Elevation). James Pants takes on "Drums Around", which he gives a percussive disco-not-disco / pop feel to. As the original track (also included here) is just Klauss drumming, then everything else (synth lines, bass, bells etc) are added by Pants. And the same goes for Tom Noble's wicked boogie disco refix of "Drumcrazy".
