ABOUT THIS ITEM
Ilija Rudman has got a real head of steam up right now, hitting us with one great release after another. He continues the 100% hit rate with this new twelve from ex-Jiscomusic label under the shade. Always a producer with a bit more about him than many of his peers, Rudman turns his attention to that mid - late 80s classic house sound, when disco was still a major influence, but the beats where pure house. "Casual Joys" features oh-so 1988 bubbling boogie bass, big piano chops, lush strings and a simple chopped-up vocal hook (there's also an instro on the flip). Love it. On the remix tip UTS have some familiar favourites lined up: Pete Herbert delivers first, providing us with a peak-time house rocker - this is a deep house future anthem I reckon (and nice to have a quality cut with the BPMs set to make us sweat)! On the flip Mark E gives the kick drum an extra hefty sound, letting the track weave its way with huge synth washes and a killer acidic keyboard riff. One of his best yet, and another one that's going to rock the floor.
