The true purveyor of the authentic electro-disco-funk sound and also known as the founder of the Red Music label, IIija's reputation is going from strength to strength. "Against The Wall" IIija's debut release for Yam Who's Ism record label has been reworked by the disco supergroup Killer Whale. The original has a massive summer Balearic feel, sounding both modern and truly authentic - the kind of dreamy hippie Ibiza cut you might have heard played in 1989. Better still is the Killer Whale rework, which is rebuilt around the hypnotic horn line, reducing the rather thin vocal, and sounds heavier than a Tensnake or a Carl Craig production taking the song up to whole devastating level. Think "Sueno Latino" meets Craig's mix of Incognito's "Out Of the Storm", with a bouncy electroid bassline underpinning the whole lot.
