Hot Chip cement their position as the world’s most talented electro-romantics with new album "In Our Heads". The band's combination of quirky, reflective lyrics and dancefloor-aimed electro / house backing tracks is present and correct, as is their canny knack of of pulling out catchy choruses and hooks in every song here. An unadulterated delight of an album bursting with dynamic floor-fillers, euphoric earworms and verbose synth-fuelled love songs, this is how pop-dance should sound.

Unlike many bands making a succession of LPs over many years, Hot Chip have improved with each new release, while retaining a distinctive sound that is also instantly recognisable. Although they draw influences from a wide variety of sources (soft rock, prog and old school house bubble to the surface here), the band never latch onto whatever current trend is big right now (auto-tuned vox and glitchy R&B beats are nowhere to be found on "In Our Heads"), instead focusing on their own work.
