ABOUT THIS ITEM
The sales notes tell us that Heartbreak's debut album infuses Italo-disco with the dark metal energy of Black Sabbath, creating the new genre of Metallo. I'd qualify that by saying that the duo get their cues from a particular type of early / mid 80s European dancefloor electro-pop / rock (not sure where the Sabbath element comes into the equation), and transplant it right into 2008, in the same way that Chromeo borrow heavily from the US equivalent from the same era. Vocodered vocals, cheeky synth riffs and track titles like "The Deadly Pong Of Love" all abound. As The Guardian say 'If an album that sounds like being transported to 1984 Rimini inside a hand-sculpted marble bath tub filled with a mixture of uncut Bolivian cocaine and Veuve Clicquot Champagne (aka Disco Paste) is your kind of thing, you should check it out.'
