ABOUT THIS ITEM
Grace Jones, one of the most distinctive voices (and appearances) in dance music is back with sa brand new long player. "Hurricane" is no thrown together comeback album; four years in the making the album features a stellar cast, from the ever dependable rhythmic backbone of Sly & Robbie through Brian Eno on keyboards to contributions from Tricky, Tony Allen and Wally Badaroo. With its dancehall riddim (and Sly & Robbie trademark digital noises) and guitar squalls, opening cut "This Is" sounds like the continuation of Jones' classic early 80s work. As does the disco-not-disco gem "William's Blood". From there the singer takes a trip into Massive Attack style moody dub-rock territory with "Corporate Cannibal", comes up with the obligatory torch song ballad on "I'm Crying (My Mother's Tears)", and heads back to 1983 with the Compass Point style "Well Well Well" and "Love You To Life".
