Mostly recorded in the back garden of their French residence between the summer and autumn of 1973, "Angels Egg" was released at Christmas as the second part of their "Radio Gnome Invisible Trilogy". This is one of Gong's most fabulous space-prog confections. Pop-oriented songs like "Oily Way" rub shoulders with Steve Hillage's fantastic guitar-driven "I Never Gild Before" and there's more lengthy spaced-out, jazz-influenced jams.
