ABOUT THIS ITEM

If you like a cracking melody, orchestration that puts in mind Pet Sounds and a thought provoking lyric then Gold Sounds are for you.  Their debut EP, the "Home Schooled EP" is a collection of four songs that balance the soaring harmonies of the sweet, You’re a Vision and the fun of So It Goes with the bound of Prints, all wrapped up with the lyrical sagacity of Sneinton Boulevard.
Taken from the title of a song on their musical muses, Pavement’s, highly acclaimed album "Crooked Rain", the name Gold Sounds could not be more befitting for this boundless five piece. Originally stemming from the musical partnership of George Napthine and William Reid, forged on the autumnal streets of Nottingham, Gold Sounds are completed by John Barrett, James Johnston and Matthew Williams. And not content with just a quintet for this recording, the boys recruited all their musical mates to form the Gold Sounds Orchestra. Woodwind and brass galore tumble joyfully through the title track So It Goes like an Alka Seltzer in Ribena. There's even a lute.
