ABOUT THIS ITEM
Recorded for the Flying Dutchman label in 1971, this is Gil's second album. After the pure poetry and percussion of "Small Talk", he's backed here by an allstar line up, including Johnny Pate (conductor!), Brian Jackson (keys), Ron Carter (bass) Bernard Purdie (drums), Burt Jones (guitar) and Hubert Laws (flute). Add to that the fact that it contains some of his best loved tunes ("The Revolution Will Not Be Televised", "Lady Day And John Coltrane", "Home Is Where The Hatred Is" etc), and you have my favourite Gil LP!
