ABOUT THIS ITEM

Sounds like Stevie Wonder, looks like Stevie Wonder, smells like Stevie Wonder (having never been in close enough proximity to Stevie Wonder, I can't verify this last bit), but it's actually Detroit soul singer, Emanuel Taylor. Released in 1978, "You Really Got A Hold On Me" was seen as too "Motown 60s", and by then the World (apart from the northern soulsters) had moved on, leaving the track to languish in the 'also ran' box. Three and a bit decades on though, we can enjoy Taylor's Stevie-like charms without the taint of being old fashioned or uncool - good music is good music, whatever the style. On the flip we get driving 70s funk piece "Society".
