Hall & Oates always had the mullet and moustache whiff of bad 80s American pop-rock. While we Brits were all being ultra-hip and post punk, those Yanks were still wearing flares and bad jumpers. Oh how we cringed. Cringed but secretly adored 1981 hit "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)", a perfect slice of disco-not-disco pop if ever there was one. De La Soul obviously felt the same way because they sampled big chunks of it on Daisy Age classic "Say No Go", giving DJs across the country a chance to mix their guilty pleasure into something a bit more hip. This reissue 12" features the original album mix and extended 12" version (which sound remarkably different), which you'd think would be a charity shop bargain bin special, but apparently not - even I shelled out a fair few quid for an original back in the day. Essential.
