Debut Not Not Fun offering (after an EP on 100% Silk) by Iowa City electronic maximalist Cuticle. Featuring SEVEN tracks I guess "Mother Rhythm Earth Memory" is more of a mini album than a 12" - so don't fret over the price. This is the first purely solo Cuticle release, after working with a series of part-time collaborators, and it's freed him to let loose his wildest and weirdest impulses. And what are those wild and weird impulses? To make refracted, submerged, distorted electronic house music, that's what. In keeping with Not Not Fun and 100% Silk label mates, Cuticle provides us with a selection of tracks that create a trippy feel via the use of multiple layers and plenty of efx button usage. Filtering, phasing, warping, pitch-bending, modulating... Cuticle does the lot, sometimes all on one song. If the new synthwave-touched sound of house is your bag, then this will be a must.
