The Cosmic Boogie edit series continues were it left off, dropping more essential edits, this time featuring none other than the hugely respected music encyclopedia that is Sean P. Sean has a collection of records that anyone would envy, and here he picks out two tracks that explore a different side of the label. “You Make Me So Hot” sees Barbara Lynn tweaked a bit, with Sean extending and re-arranging her 1973 slo-mo soul bomb that will work a treat in the warm-up (The very first Electric Chair club night I went to, James Holroyd played this, and I've loved it ever since - Philippa). On the flip, “Sunrise” takes Rose Royce’s track from the Carwash soundtrack and creates a teased-out funk monster that sounds like Curtis Mayfield-meets-Talking Heads (well, it does to these ears anyway!).
