Having put out releases to much acclaim on esteemed labels such as DFA, Dissident, Astro Lab and their own The Walls Have Ears imprint, Cage & Aviary are now set to spread their wings with a brand new release for Tiny Sticks. "Beat N Path" has that combination of loose, laid back drum and organic funky bass that is fast becoming their defining sound. A quirky, high pitched melody line rides the funky train as layers of live percussion and warm keyboards slowly start to fill out the track. Some acid 303 business accompanies the bass solos to create a human-electronic element that's soooo 2010. This acid element is further teased out and expanded on through Brennan Green's 'Anxious Acid Version' which ups the tempo, fires an 808 cowbell right to the front of the mix then caresses us with layer upon layer of lush, 303-tooting acid goodness.
