ABOUT THIS ITEM
Issue 3 of our favourite Manchester read has features this month on music: Lonelady, Night And Day, and a Shaun Ryder. Drinking: A longstanding local hostelry, The Unicorn. Football: The historical links with FC United's move to a new ground. Shopping: Oi Polloi - where every well dressed gent shops and the treasure troves that are book stalls. And of course there's also just general Manchester stuff: a piece on the city's train stations and on the city's history of altruism and philanthropy and of course the regular rant that is Hell Is A City.
Reading back what I've just written here, this sounds like it could actually be rather dull... an article on train stations?! But on the contrary this is a really entertaining read, written with intelligence, wit and an obvious love for the city.
