This eagerly expected follow up single to their excellent "New Moon" album (a Piccadilly favourite from 2011) sees Alumnia back on Claremont 56, and back with the dreamy Balearic goodness. On side A “Pulsar” is a chugging bass-heavy number that wouldn’t sound out of place if Peter Green and Jon Martyn turned up for a post-gig brandy round your mate's house (before they had too much of the brandy, obviously). All hefty fx-laden guitar, driven bass and a thumping kick to boot. A cosmic-Balearic-rock chugger. Over on side B “The Magician” rolls out a similar groove, following a beautiful intro with layers of echoplex guitar, heavy bass and swathing atmospherics. You know they’re gonna sound good when the sunshine finally arrives - best played inbetween the showers, or better still, at a Mediterranean / Adriatic beach bar...
