ABOUT THIS ITEM
October 10th 2011 will see London's A Grave With No Name (aka Alex Shields) release 'Lower' through record label and publisher, Boiled Egg.
This cassette follows the 'Crows/Balloons' 7” single on No Pain In Pop, released earlier this week, and the 'Mountain Debris' LP, released in 2009. A Grave With No Name also recently toured the UK supporting Sebadoh.
The tape shifts from frank presentations of the personal effects of passing time, over vocal-led tracks 'Winter In Japan', 'By The Water's Edge', and 'I Know How Long She Haunts This Place', to distant, enigmatic collages of submerged vocal samples and compressed electronics in 'Khonnor', 'Saskia', and 'You, Me, Dead In A Shark's Cage'. Through all of its variations, 'Lower' stands as a powerful next step for A Grave With No Name.
'Lower' (EGG004) will be available as a two-part cassette tape and as a download, with artwork by Daniel Blumberg (Yuck/Oupa).
