Thomas Cohen shares his debut album ‘Bloom Forever’, released by Stolen Recordings.

Inspired by the works of singer-songwriters such as Townes Van Zandt, Judee Sill, Van Morrison and Jim Sullivan, ‘Bloom Forever’ is a chronologically ordered document of the songs Cohen wrote between 2012 and 2015.

Of course, tragedy is also present on the record. In April 2014 the unthinkable happened. Cohen’s wife Peaches died at their Surrey home aged 25, leaving him to raise their two small boys. Rather than turn his back on the record in grief, Cohen eventually decided to continue work on the album, relocating to Iceland to write and record the rest of ‘Bloom Forever’ and finding some kind of peace through the process.

East India Youth

Hinterland - Inc. Katja Waske Remix

In a move that's certain to please the proper techno heads out there, East India Youth has finally seen fit to deploy the finest piece of dancefloor weaponary on his critically acclaimed debut LP in 12" form. Militaristic drums, driving sequences and swirling modular washes interlock into a pulsating nuclear core, well on its way to meltdown. Falling somewhere between the stripped back machine funk of Factory Floor and the unyielding energy of a Carl Craig classic, "Hinterland" is the kind of cut you build your whole set around. In other words, totally massive. On the flipside, the mysterious Katja Waske drops in to provide a face melting remix, which ramps up the aggression tenfold, turning "Hinterland" into raw techno filth. If you're after one of those thunderous stadium sized techno monsters usually released by either of the Kalkbrenner brothers, then this is your new jam. Serrated sequences, pounding percussion and searing drones combine perfectly to set the night on fire.

    Race Horses

    Furniture

Race Horses’ fantastic second album is a pin-sharp pop record inspired by Queen, Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Soft Cell.

      STAFF COMMENTS

Ryan says: Welsh fivepeice Race Horses present us with a curiously poppy second album drawing influence from soft cell & Dexy's Midnight Runners. Fancy some guilty pop? Go for this.

      Race Horses

      My Year Abroad

A group who thrive in their songcraft while picking apart the everyday to find the hidden relationships within, Aberystwyth’s Race Horses return with new album ‘Furniture’ and lead-off single ‘My Year Abroad’.

Indicative of the new album’s tight, compact songwriting, ‘My Year Abroad’ sees the band make their most defined steps forward yet and hone in on the pin-sharp pop that lead singer Meilyr Jones has cited as recent influences, such as Soft Cell, Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Queen.

‘My Year Abroad’ is typical of Jones’ lyrical perspective. It focuses on the tale of a businessman on a trip to Tokyo, but digs under the surface level to find, as he puts it, “the grim reality, not the glamorisation of excess, using things and people, cheap thrills.”

Features Welsh language B-side ‘Cysur a Cyffro’.

Limited to 500 bright yellow coloured 7”s with postcard and tracing paper insert. Includes business card with phone number - fans are invited to leave messages for the band.
