Sounds of Swami are a post hardcore / punk rock band from Keighley, West Yorkshire and formed in late 2005. The band is highly influenced by alternative music with bands such as Fugazi, At The Drive In, Hot Snakes, Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat, Mastodon and Hell is for Heroes making a big impact on their sound. The band is politically active in terms of lyrics; especially anti racism, anti elitism and pushing positive thinking. Sounds of Swami always feel the need to keep their sound evolving and challenging to both themselves and their audience with diverse experimentation within the punk genre. Despite the serious nature of their songs, the band never fails to enjoy themselves onstage and on the road earning them a wealth of friends along away. Whilst tackling a busy gig schedule, they have built themselves a reputation for being a highly energetic live act and a unit that is not shy to put in the hours.
